Welcome to LeadPortal.com.  No that you have arrived and can not find a "Buy Leads Here" button, you are probably annoyed that we have just wasted your time.  Rest assured that even though you can not buy leads from LeadPortal.com, we can help you with the process.

LeadPortal was created to be a safe place for mortgage brokers to buy leads.  Well, what does safe mean?  Safe means we placed ourselves in between the lead companies and the mortgage brokers in order to protect the mortgage brokers from the pitfalls that often loom behind a lead companies pretty website.  No refunds on bogus leads, wasted time on bogus leads, wrong filters, 30 brokers for each lead and just flat out no leads are all problems brokers face when they sign up with bad lead companies.  LeadPortal sounds like a great idea right?  Absolutely, it is a great idea but we were unable to reach a good balance of quality lead companies and large lead buyers.  To run an effective marketplace you need to have quality suppliers and quality buyers.  We had problems creating this utopia and one of the reasons was crooks, I mean lead companies, providing bad leads.

If it doesn't kill you, it can only make you better and we are still here so you can learn from our pain!  One process we had in place from the beginning at LeadPortal was a background check on all lead companies that wanted to sell leads through LeadPortal.com.  The background checks were all very simple and forward yet over half of the lead companies who expressed interest in LeadPortal did not fill out the simple forms.  Why?  Well, because they are trying to hide something.

In the next article or two I am going to cover the background checks you should run on any lead company you want to buy leads from in the future.  If you ask the lead companies for this information and they refuse or give you a fuzzy answer, don't just walk away, run!  You MUST treat every mortgage lead company as if they are going to rip you off until they prove, over time, that they are in fact honest.
